Last week was a great week but a busy one. Wednesday we had a Stake Relief Society Conference. During the day before that, the stake had a humanitarian project tying quilts. They were able to tie 9 quilts. I cam and helped for the last hour and a half because I had to work that day. It was a worthwhile project. That night they had 3 generations speak, Molly George (a grand daughter), Kelly George (a daughter), and then the Grandmother ( I can't remember her name). They spoke on Relief Society and how it had influenced their lives and Molly spoke on how sisters in Relief Society had influenced her and how she looked forward to becoming a Relief Society member. President Bowen was the concluding speaker. He spoke of the Holy Ghost and how we can get that into our lives all the time and how the Spirit can influence us, our families and empower us to face anything in this life. i am going to miss him as stake president. He will be a great mission president.
Thursday I went to Skyline's Boys basketball game and they won. Then Friday we went to the IF Symphony to watch Barb play and the group Rockappella sing. They were the group that did "Where in the world is Carmen San Diego?" Do you remember them boys? They were awesome.
Saturday I was up at BYU-I most of the day listening to Julie Beck. She did a women's conference in the morning and a leadership training in the afternoon. She was wonderful. She basically did not have a prepared text, but she had people ask questions and she answered them. She is powerful and the Relief Society is in good hands. The leadership training had priesthood in it as well. She let us ask about questions with the new handbook and it was very enlightening.
That night the stake did a dinner to recognize young men who had received Duty to God or their Eagle in the last year. We went with Steven because he had received both. It was a nice evening.
Steven had his last interview with the Bishop and President Bowen and Janaye had her interview to receive her Young Womanhood Recognition Award next Tuesday March 8. You are all invited.
We are so proud of all of you and you are doing great things. Thanks for being who you are.
Love, Mom
